to a new host
We move your site to a new host along with its database, SSL, redirects and email settings — usually with no downtime for visitors. Moving to BB STUDIO hosting is free and comes with 2 weeks of hosting on us; moving to any other host starts at ₴1,500.
We work under a formal contract, with no prepayment. Your old hosting stays live until we have checked everything on the new one together.
People usually move a site because it is slow, the control panel is awkward, renewals are expensive or the host has dropped the PHP version they need. But migration is more than copying files: there is the database, email, the SSL certificate, cron jobs and server settings, all easy to lose along the way.
We migrate so that visitors notice nothing: we test a copy of the site at a temporary URL, lower the DNS TTL in advance where possible and only then switch the domain over. After the switch we go through forms, email, payments and redirects once more.
If you are moving to us, the migration is free and your first 2 weeks of hosting are on us. Our hosting plans start at ₴150/mo and include daily backups and SSL.
Moving to us costs nothing; for another host, we name the price once we have seen the site. No prepayment.
The price depends on the size of the site and database, the number of sites and mailboxes, and whether we have access to the old hosting. If the new host is not ours, you pay the provider directly.
Before touching anything, we save the files and database somewhere separate. Whatever happens, the site can be restored.
We copy the site, import the database, update the credentials in the configuration, and set up the right PHP version and cron jobs.
We open the site on the new server before the domain is switched and check the pages, admin panel, search and checkout.
If DNS stays with the same provider and only the A records change, we lower the TTL in advance — at least one old-TTL period ahead. A nameserver change cannot be sped up this way, so we allow more time, and while the change propagates, both servers keep working.
We check the MX records so incoming mail keeps reaching your inboxes, and SPF and DKIM so mail sent from your domain and site stays out of spam. Then we install the SSL certificate on the new server.
Forms, payments, redirects, cron, speed — we go through everything again after the switch. The old hosting stays on until we are sure nothing has been lost.
We get access to both hosting accounts and, if DNS stays with the same provider, lower the TTL on your records in advance.
We take a backup, deploy the site on the new server and test it at a temporary URL.
Once everything checks out, we point the domain at the new server.
We check email, SSL, forms and redirects; only then do you cancel the old hosting.
