We upgrade sites from Joomla 3 and 4 to Joomla 5 and 6: we check the extensions and template, move the site to modern PHP 8 and take care to protect its Google rankings. Joomla 4 → 5 or 6 from ₴3,000, Joomla 3 → 5 or 6 from ₴7,200.
We do everything on a copy of the site first, so your live site keeps taking enquiries. We work officially, with no prepayment, and you know the price before we start.
Joomla 3 has had no security updates since August 2023, and Joomla 4 none since October 2025. Joomla 5 still gets security fixes until October 2027, and the current branch is Joomla 6. An old site keeps working until someone exploits a known vulnerability or the host switches off PHP 7.
The main difficulty is not the core but the template and extensions. Joomla 3 templates do not work in Joomla 4 and later, some extensions have been abandoned by their authors, and others only have new versions under a separate paid licence. That is why we start with an audit: what will update on its own, what needs replacing and what needs reworking.
Next comes the upgrade on a copy: Joomla 3.10 → 4.4 → 5.4 → 6, with checks after each step, moving the design over and setting up redirects. We switch the live site only once the copy has been fully checked. And if your site is changing hosts as well, our Joomla hosting comes with free migration.
We give you the final price after auditing the site — before any work starts. No prepayment.
The price depends on the number of extensions, how complex the template is, the language versions and the amount of content. If an extension is paid, you buy the licence, or we find a free replacement. Work beyond the agreed scope is billed at ₴600/h. Sites on Joomla 1.5 and 2.5 are quoted separately: it is often better value to move the content to a new site.
You cannot jump straight from Joomla 3 to 6: the upgrade goes through intermediate versions, and each step has its own PHP requirements.

Not just clicking “Update” in the admin panel, but going all the way so the site keeps both its design and its Google rankings.
We list the extensions, the template and any changes to the code. For each one we work out whether there is a version for Joomla 5 and 6, whether it needs replacing or whether it can go.
We set up a copy of the site on a test subdomain. All updates and checks happen there, while your live site keeps taking enquiries.
Joomla 3 templates do not work in the new version. We move the design to a compatible template or to Cassiopeia with a child template, so the site looks the same as before.
If an extension’s author has disappeared, we find a maintained alternative and move the data over: forms, galleries, catalogues, sliders.
We keep page URLs, meta tags and the menu structure. If URLs change, we set up 301 redirects and check the sitemap.
We move the site to PHP 8.2–8.4, switch on caching and strip out what is not needed. Modern Joomla on a current PHP version loads noticeably faster.

Hosts are gradually switching off PHP 7. A Joomla 3 site may stop opening after a routine server update.
Developers are moving to Joomla 5 and 6 and no longer update the old versions of their extensions — even the paid ones.
Old PHP and outdated code run slower, and if the site gets hacked, browsers and Google show visitors a warning.
