Custom website and web app development

Custom website and web app development built around your processes: online booking, client accounts, price calculators, data exchange with 1C and CRM. Price from ₴59,900, first working version from 4 weeks.

Analysis and the technical specification take 3–5 days and are already included in the cost, and the price of each stage is fixed in the contract before work starts. We show you a working version every week, so you see progress instead of waiting for the finish. We hand over the code, repository and access credentials to you, and one team handles analysis, design, development and support.

Who custom website development is for

Custom code makes sense when your process doesn’t fit a template: several roles, calculations, payments or data exchange with an accounting system. If you recognize your situation below, we’ll start with analysis — it will show which format you need.

Startups with a service idea

An idea is worth testing on real users before you invest your budget in building the full version. We’ll start with an MVP: the key scenario, an admin panel and one or two integrations, and we’ll add further features based on feedback from your first customers and analytics data.

Companies that need automation

A client account instead of back-and-forth messages, request tracking instead of spreadsheets, a price calculator instead of manual calculations. The service takes over the routine and passes data to your CRM or 1C, so managers work with clients instead of copying data.

Businesses with non-standard logic

Booking with schedules and prepayment, a marketplace with sellers and buyers, a portal with different access rights. When your business rules are your advantage, we build them into the code instead of bending them to fit plugin capabilities.

Those who outgrew a template or builder

The template or website builder no longer offers enough: new features have to be pieced together from plugins and workarounds. This calls for complex website development with your own logic that can evolve without platform limitations.

When you don’t need custom development

  • Does the site need to present your company, services and team, with no special scenarios? Then custom code is overkill: the structure, an inquiry form and a convenient admin panel come with a corporate website.
  • Selling products with a standard cart? A catalog with filters, online payment and delivery are already included in the price when you order an online store.
  • One offer and one target action — a request or a call — don’t require accounts and roles. A one-page site is enough here: a landing page.
  • Want to show your product range with prices and filters, but without payment on the site? The customer picks a product and leaves a request — this is a job for a catalog website.
  • If a ready-made service already does the job, we’ll say so and help you set it up. That’s faster and cheaper than building your own, and you can return to custom development when your business outgrows the service.

What we build

These are typical tasks in custom website development. We build each one around your rules — roles, statuses, calculations, notifications — and combine several in one service if needed.

01

Online appointments and booking

The client sees available slots, chooses a service and a specialist, makes a prepayment and gets a reminder. Bookings on the site sync with Google Calendar, and you change schedules, breaks and days off in the admin panel.

02

Client or partner account

Building a personal account starts with roles: a client sees their orders, statuses, payments and documents, while a partner sees personal prices and stock levels. Fewer calls and repetitive questions to managers.

03

Portal or marketplace

Developing a web portal or marketplace means several roles with different rights: sellers, buyers, moderators. We build in registration, listings or products, search with filters, messaging and the platform commission.

04

Price calculators and configurators

The client selects options and sees the price instantly, and the request with the calculation goes to your CRM or Telegram. You change formulas, coefficients and prices in the admin panel without a developer, and the new terms apply as soon as you save them.

05

Integrations: 1C/BAS, CRM, payments, API

Sometimes the site already exists but lacks a link to accounting, CRM or payments. We develop the integration as a separate project: data flows between systems automatically, and managers don’t have to transfer orders and stock levels by hand.

06

Internal tools for your team

Request tracking, task distribution among managers, reports with the metrics you need. Instead of spreadsheets and chats — one service with roles, change history and smartphone access, and leadership sees where things stand without manual summaries.

07

Document generators

Invoices, acceptance certificates and contracts are generated from order data using your templates, with an NBU payment QR code if needed. The document can be downloaded from the user account or received by email right after the order is placed.

How we develop a web app: MVP from 4 weeks

We work on a turnkey basis in short stages: after each one, you see the result and approve the next step. The timeline for each stage is visible in the technical specification before the contract is signed.

  1. Stage 1 · 3–5 days

    Analysis and technical specification

We go through goals, roles, scenarios and integrations, and assess the scope and risks. We agree on what goes into the first version and what goes into later ones, and record this in the contract.

  2. Stage 2 · after the technical specification

    Prototype of key screens

We build a clickable prototype of the main screens so you can check the logic before design and show the prototype to colleagues or first customers. Changing a scenario is easiest and cheapest at this stage.

  3. Stage 3 · after the prototype

    Interface design

We design the interface for desktop and smartphone: forms, tables, statuses, error messages and empty states. We agree on the mockups with you before development starts, so developers work from a signed-off design.

  4. Stage 4 · weekly demos

    Development in short stages

We write code in iterations and deploy a working version to a test server every week. You check the finished features and can change priorities before the next iteration.

  5. Stage 5 · before launch

    Testing

We test each role’s scenarios, payments, integrations and performance on different devices and browsers. For the “Product” format, we add load testing so the service can withstand peak loads.

  6. Stage 6 · after testing

    Launch and training

We move the service to the production server, connect the domain and set up GA4 and backups. We train your team to use the admin panel, and the 3-month warranty starts on launch day.

  7. Stage 7 · monthly

    Support and development

We monitor the service, update it and add features based on an agreed estimate. New ideas are planned using analytics data and user feedback, not guesswork.

Ready-made service, template with plugins or custom development

An honest comparison: at the start, a ready-made service is faster and cheaper. The difference shows up later — in flexibility, integrations and code ownership.

Technologies and integrations

We choose the stack for the task and include the required integrations in the technical specification so the architecture accounts for them from the start. If the system you need isn’t on the list, we’ll check its API at the analysis stage.

Modern stack and readable code

We develop with PHP/Laravel and modern JavaScript — a widespread stack for which specialists are easy to find. We write code to framework standards so another developer can understand it.

Payment systems

Card payments via LiqPay, monobank or WayForPay, with the payment status updated instantly in the user account and admin panel. If needed, we connect Checkbox (software cash register) for fiscal receipts.

1C, BAS and ERP

Exchange of products, prices, stock, orders and counterparties on a schedule or right after changes. The accounting system remains the main data source, and the site shows current prices and availability.

CRM and Telegram bots

Requests, payments and status changes go to KeyCRM, Bitrix24, HubSpot or SalesDrive. A Telegram bot notifies your team about new orders or takes bookings from clients.

Nova Poshta, Google Maps, Calendar, Sheets

Delivery cost calculation and Nova Poshta or Ukrposhta waybills, maps with pickup points, bookings in Google Calendar, report exports to Google Sheets. We check every integration on test data before launch.

API for mobile apps and partners

We design an API through which a mobile app, partners or your other systems work with the service. Access is key-based, and we document the methods so connecting doesn’t require extra questions.

Examples of web app development

Our own products

The tax calculator for sole proprietors (FOP), the invoice and acceptance certificate generator with an NBU QR code, and the FOP tax calendar are our own services, built from scratch. Anyone can open them on bbstudio.site and try them for free, along with more than 50 online tools for webmasters. The studio has completed more than 100 projects in different niches — see examples in the studio portfolio.

How much a web app costs after launch

Hosting or serverSmall services: from ₴149/mo paid yearly; high-load ones: a server chosen after the technical specification
DomainAt the registrar’s rate; registered in your name, and connecting it is included
Support and developmentFrom ₴2,900/mo: updates, minor improvements, priority response to outages
Paid external servicesSMS, payment system fees, paid APIs — at those services’ rates
Backups and monitoringIncluded in support, not billed separately
New featuresBased on an estimate we agree on before work starts

We name the recurring costs at the technical specification stage so the service budget holds no surprises after launch. A small service can be hosted on our hosting with daily backups.

Terms of work: contract, stages and code

We put the terms of cooperation in the contract before the first payment — so both sides know the price, timeline and rights to the result. We work remotely with clients across Ukraine, so we agree on everything in writing and in online meetings.

You keep the technical specification

You can order the technical specification separately, from ₴4,900. The document becomes yours, even if you continue with another team. If we do the development, this amount is credited toward the project cost.

Fixed price and payment in stages

The price and timeline of each stage are written into the contract before work starts. Large projects are paid in stages — design, development, launch — so you pay for visible results rather than the full amount upfront.

Weekly demos

Once a week, you see what already works and give feedback. We make revisions at each stage within the agreed structure, so discrepancies surface early, not on delivery day.

Code, repository and access are yours

The code is stored in your repository, and we hand over access to the admin panel, hosting and server — just like the domain, which we register in your name. You pay for development once, with no license fees for the code.

3-month warranty

For 3 months after launch, we fix errors caused on our side free of charge. New features are not covered by the warranty — we assess them separately and agree on a cost estimate.

NDA if needed

If your idea, data or processes are confidential, we sign a non-disclosure agreement. For startups and internal company services, this is standard practice that doesn’t complicate the work.

Common mistakes in custom projects

Six situations that make a custom project cost more or take longer. They are easier to avoid at the start than to fix later.

  1. Starting without a technical specification: without a description of roles and scenarios, the estimate remains rough, and every new detail mid-development changes the price and timeline. The client and the contractor picture the result differently.
  2. A first release that is too big: trying to launch everything at once delays the start and eats up the budget. An MVP with the key scenario brings feedback and data for the next decisions sooner.
  3. No budget for support: a service needs updates, monitoring and backups, otherwise even stable code becomes vulnerable over time. Plan these costs before launch.
  4. Code in someone else’s repository: if the repository and access are registered to the contractor, every change depends on them. Agree up front that you are the owner of everything.
  5. Integrations “later”: data exchange with 1C, CRM or a payment system added after launch often forces you to rework the logic. Include them in the technical specification from the start.
  6. No analytics: without GA4 and configured events, you can’t see where users drop off, so new features have to be chosen at random. We set up analytics before launch.

What to prepare before we start

You don’t need to have everything ready to order custom development: we’ll work out the rest together at the analysis stage. Send what you have via the contact form, and we’ll suggest a format and scope for the first version.

  1. A description of the idea and goals: what problem the service solves, who it’s for and which metrics will show you that it works.
  2. User roles: who will work with the service — clients, managers, partners, the administrator — and what each of them can do.
  3. Key scenarios: a few main user actions from login to result, such as booking, payment or receiving a document.
  4. Examples and competitors: services you like or find frustrating, with a short note on what exactly works in them and what doesn’t.
  5. Required integrations: accounting system, CRM, payments, delivery, messengers — and who on your side will provide access to them.
  6. Budget and timeline: an approximate amount and the date you need the first version by, so we can propose a realistic MVP scope.

Terms in plain language

MVP
A minimum working version of a product with the key scenario. It lets you test the idea on real users and collect feedback before investing in the full version.
Technical specification
A document describing what should work in the service and how. It is the basis of the contract and the acceptance criterion: each stage is checked against it.
Prototype
A clickable layout of the key screens without the final design. It is used to check logic and navigation before writing code.
API
A programming interface through which systems exchange data. For example, a service gets stock levels from 1C or sends orders to a CRM.
Integration
A configured automatic data exchange between your service and another system: payments, CRM, accounting or delivery.

Questions about custom website development

The “MVP” format costs from ₴59,900, “Product” with user accounts and integrations from ₴119,900, and “Growth” after launch from ₴2,900/mo. The total depends on the number of roles, integrations and the complexity of the logic. We prepare a free rough estimate within 15 minutes during business hours and fix the exact price of each stage in the contract after the technical specification. Other services are listed on the studio service prices page.

The first working version in the “MVP” format takes from 4 weeks; a service with user accounts, online payment and integrations takes from 8 weeks. The analysis and technical specification stage lasts 3–5 days, after which you get a plan with stages and dates. Integrations with third-party systems affect the timeline most, so we estimate them in the technical specification. The deadlines are fixed in the contract, and weekly demos show how the work is progressing.

Analysis is 3–5 days of working through your processes, roles, scenarios, integrations and constraints. The result is a technical specification describing the features and splitting the project into stages, each with its own price. As part of development, this stage is not billed separately. If you only need the document, it costs from ₴4,900: the technical specification stays with you, you can take it to any contractor, and if you continue with us, we credit the amount toward development.

Yes, and for a new product this is the path we recommend. An MVP covers the key scenario so you can test the idea on real users and not pay for features you may not need. We design the architecture from the start with roles, user accounts and integrations in mind, so the service then grows step by step — based on an agreed estimate or within the “Growth” package.

Our main stack is PHP/Laravel and modern JavaScript, and for content sections we can use WordPress. We choose specific tools for the task after the technical specification, taking into account the load, the integrations and who will maintain the service afterwards — us or your team. We don’t impose a stack: it should fit the task, not the developers’ habits.

You do: the service belongs to the client, not the studio. You get the code, the repository, the domain in your name and all access, so you can develop the service with us, your own team or another contractor. If you decide to switch contractors, you won’t have to buy anything back.

Yes. First we analyze the code, server and integrations and tell you directly what makes more sense: improving what exists or rewriting certain parts. We fix the scope and price of the improvements in the contract before work starts. A site on a website builder can’t be moved to your own hosting, so in that case we suggest developing the service from scratch, using your content and experience as the basis.

First, we fix the price and timeline in the contract — before work starts. Custom projects are usually large, so we split payment into stages — design, development, launch — and the next one starts once you’ve accepted the previous one. For smaller tasks, the scheme is 50% prepayment and 50% after project delivery. Support and development after launch are paid monthly.

Right after launch, a 3-month warranty applies — during this time we fix errors caused on our side free of charge. After that, the service can move to the “Growth” package from ₴2,900/mo: updates, monitoring, backups, minor improvements and priority response to outages. If you have your own developer, we’ll hand over the code and access to them. Details are on the website technical support page.

Yes. We draw up and agree on a non-disclosure agreement together before you share the details of your idea or internal data. We only ask for access to the systems we can’t do the work without, and once the work is finished you can change the passwords and revoke that access.
