Clothing online store Clothing online store development — BB STUDIO built from scratch

A clothing store is not a catalogue with a cart. It is a system where size, colour, stock and returns matter more than a pretty homepage. We built Antana and Bivaji and we know exactly where clothing stores lose money: product pages without per-size stock, filters that reset, carts that vanish on mobile.

We build stores from scratch in PHP — our own MVC architecture on MySQL, no heavy CMS, no paid plugins. Catalogue, product page, cart and admin panel are designed around your assortment and your workflow, not the other way round.

Clothing online store development — BB STUDIO

Who needs a real store instead of an Instagram page

Instagram sells while you answer DMs. Your own store sells while you sleep. We build stores for four types of business — and each one needs something different.

A brand that outgrew Instagram

Orders no longer fit in DMs, the manager mixes up sizes, and there is nowhere to send new customers except the profile. You need a store that takes orders on its own and can be the destination for ads.

Multi-brand store

You sell several brands, each with its own size chart and its own supplier. You need brand filters, separate size tables and stock that updates automatically from every supplier.

Children's clothing

The buyer is a mum with a phone and forty seconds of attention. The product page must answer "which size for a 3-year-old" instantly, and checkout must take two steps. That is exactly how we built Bivaji.

Manufacturer: wholesale and retail

The same products, but different prices, minimum quantities and delivery terms. You need one catalogue with two modes and a wholesale account with personal pricing — not two separate websites.

Why a template store breaks down precisely on clothing

  • One size chart for the whole store. Jeans and dresses size differently, two brands even more so. A template gives one table for everything, and the customer orders the wrong size.
  • Variants as separate products. A T-shirt in five colours becomes five product pages — Google sees duplicates, and the customer never notices the other colours exist.
  • No per-size stock. The customer adds an M that is already gone, the manager calls to apologise, the order is lost. The store must show "2 left" before the click.
  • Photos are compressed beyond recognition. Clothing is bought with the eyes: texture, fit, details. A site builder's automatic compression kills exactly what people pay for.
  • Returns are a separate process. In fashion, 20–30% of orders come back, and that is normal. The site needs return terms, a form and statuses — site builders know nothing about that.

What goes into the structure of a clothing store

This is not a list of "what the platform can do", but what we build into every clothing store by default — because without it, the store does not sell.

01

Catalogue with smart filters

Categories by type and gender; filters by size, colour, fabric, brand and price. Filters persist across pages, and the selected ones show as tags above the product grid.

02

A product page that sells

Several photos per colour, zoom, video where needed. A size chart in centimetres right next to the size selector, stock levels, fabric composition and care, a "wear it with" block.

03

Two-step checkout, no registration

Phone, name, post office — and the order is placed. The cart is kept across sessions and devices; a promo code applies instantly with the total recalculated.

04

Customer account

Order history, one-click reorder, saved sizes and addresses, delivery status, loyalty points. The account is what turns a buyer into a repeat customer.

05

Delivery and returns

Terms per carrier, timing, cost and the free-shipping threshold. A dedicated returns page with a form: the customer creates the request, you see it in the admin panel.

06

Admin panel made for fashion

A product with colour × size variants on one screen, bulk price and stock updates, Excel import, orders with statuses, discounts and promotions with start and end dates.

07

Blog and outfit guides

"How to wear it" pages, seasonal guides, sizing advice. That is search traffic, internal links to products, and a reason to come back to the site beyond a purchase.

Integrations we connect to a clothing store

A store that lives apart from shipping, payments and marketplaces means manual work every day. We stitch it together with the tools you already use.

Nova Poshta and Ukrposhta

Branch or parcel-locker selection on a map right in the cart, automatic waybill creation, tracking status for the customer in their account and messenger.

Online payments

LiqPay, Monobank, Fondy or WayForPay — full payment, partial prepayment, bank instalments. Cash on delivery stays as an option if you want it.

Rozetka, Prom and Google Merchant

Automatic export of products with prices and stock. The store becomes the single source of truth, and marketplaces become extra shop windows you never update by hand.

Catalogue for Meta and Instagram

A feed for Facebook Shop and Instagram Shopping: tagged products in posts lead to your store, and retargeting shows the exact item the person was looking at.

Stock synchronisation

With 1C, BAS, a Google Sheet or your warehouse software — stock updates automatically, so the site never shows a size that is already sold out.

Viber and Telegram notifications

The customer gets order status and tracking number; the manager gets new orders and abandoned carts. No more "where is my order" calls.

Site builder, ready-made theme or custom build — what a clothing store should choose

Three paths, three budgets and three different ceilings. We show frankly where a site builder wins — and where it becomes a problem six months in.

Where clothing store customers come from

A store with no traffic is a warehouse with nice photos. We design the structure for the channels people actually buy clothes from — at the prototype stage.

Category SEO

"Women's dresses", "kids' overalls", "men's hoodies" — category pages with unique copy, clean URLs and filters that do not spawn duplicates.

Google Shopping

Product ads with photo and price right in the search results. They need a valid Merchant Center feed — the store generates it automatically.

Meta and Instagram

A Facebook catalogue, product tags in posts and stories, retargeting on viewed items and abandoned carts. This is where clothing sells best.

Email and repeat sales

Segments by size and category, cart reminders, "back in stock", seasonal mailings. The cheapest channel once you have a customer base.

How much a clothing online store costs

The price depends on the number of products and variants, the set of integrations, and whether you need custom design and content entry. Three typical configurations:

2–3 weeks
from ₴16,900

Our experience in fashion e-commerce

Our experience

Antana is a clothing store with a category catalogue, filters, size-aware product pages and fast checkout. Bivaji is children's clothing, where the main task was to make choosing a size by age obvious and mobile checkout two steps long. Both projects are live: see how it looks in real stores.

Mistakes we see in other clothing stores

We regularly audit stores before a redesign. Here is what comes up most often — and what costs sales every single day.

  1. "DM us for sizes". The customer came to buy now, not to chat. Every "please ask" costs half the orders.
  2. A price with no crossed-out old price and no currency. The discount does not feel like a discount, and a foreign buyer cannot tell what it is in.
  3. The cart empties on page refresh or on mobile. The customer picked three items, hit "back" — and started over. They will not.
  4. Return terms hidden in the footer in tiny print. People buy clothes only when they are sure they can send them back — that belongs on the product page.
  5. Filters reset on the second page. Someone picked size S and black, went to the next page — and sees everything again.
  6. One photo per product. Clothes are viewed from three angles, in motion and close up on the fabric. One photo means "not buying, can't see it".

What to prepare before the store build starts

Development goes faster when the materials are ready. Here is what we will ask for on the first call — you can start collecting it now.

  1. Product photos: at least three angles per colour, on a uniform background, in one style. We will give you the size and format requirements.
  2. Size charts for every brand or category — in centimetres, with instructions on how to measure.
  3. A product list with variants: SKU, name, colour, size, price, stock. A Google Sheet or an export from your inventory software.
  4. Delivery and return terms: carriers, timing, cost, free-shipping threshold, how you accept returns.
  5. Access to or registration with a payment provider and Nova Poshta (API key), plus Rozetka / Prom accounts if you plan exports.
  6. A vector logo, brand colours and examples of stores you like — so the design does not start from a blank page.

Clothing store glossary: terms you will hear from us

SKU (variant code)
A unique code for every "product + colour + size" combination. Stock and warehouse sync run on SKUs, not on product names.
Variable product
One product page with a set of variants instead of a separate product per colour. The customer sees all colours and sizes in one place; Google sees one page with no duplicates.
Product feed
A file with products, prices and stock that the store serves to Google Merchant, Meta, Rozetka or Prom. It updates automatically whenever the catalogue changes.
Abandoned cart
The customer added an item but never checked out. In fashion that is 60–70% of carts — and a reminder by messenger or email brings some of them back.
Dropshipping
A model where you sell and the supplier ships. The store must support several stock sources and different delivery times for different products.

There is no limit — 50 or 5,000 items, the store runs just as fast. The only question is who enters them: we import from your spreadsheet in one go, and after that you add products yourself or hand administration over to us.

Yes — that is the main requirement for the admin panel. A product with all colours and sizes is added on one screen, prices and stock are updated in bulk, promotions switch on by date. After launch we run a training session and leave a video guide.

Every size of every colour has its own stock level. When it runs low, the page shows "2 left"; at zero the size becomes inactive but stays visible so the page keeps its search rankings. Stock is managed manually or synced with your warehouse.

Yes. The store generates feeds in the required format, and marketplaces pull them on a schedule. You edit a product in one place — it updates everywhere. Google Merchant and the Instagram catalogue work the same way.

No. We build one catalogue with two modes: a retail customer sees regular prices, a wholesaler sees their own after logging in, with minimum quantities and separate delivery terms. Cheaper than two sites and easier to maintain.

Technical support is from ₴2,900/month: updates, backups, monitoring, minor fixes. Administration, where we enter products and promotions, is from ₴1,900/month. Hosting is from ₴149/month. You can also take none of it and manage the store yourself.

Yes, if it is done properly: keep the category structure, set up 301 redirects from old URLs to new ones, migrate copy and photos, verify the new site in Search Console. We handle such migrations — rankings dip for a few weeks and come back with a gain.
