Email Spam Test

Spam score, SPF, DKIM and DMARC for your email.

Step 1

Send an email to this address

check+c2af4b2e03@bbstudio.site

Send a normal email from whatever system you are testing: your mail client, CRM or newsletter service. There is no need to write anything special.

Step 2

Press this once you have sent the email — we will start looking for it.

How the email spam test works

1 Copy the address

Every test gets its own temporary address. It is single-use and lasts 24 hours.

2 Send the email

The actual message you plan to send: same template, signature and links. We check the real email, not a sample.

3 Get the report

The spam score, SPF, DKIM and DMARC results, blacklist checks and a list of what to fix.

What exactly we check

SPF

whether your server is allowed to send on behalf of the domain

DKIM

whether the message is signed and was not altered in transit

DMARC

whether the From domain matches the authenticated one

Blacklists

whether the sending IP appears in Spamhaus, SpamCop, Barracuda or SORBS

PTR

whether the IP has a reverse record that resolves back to the same address

Service headers

Message-ID, Date, List-Unsubscribe and others that tell a real mailing from a homemade script

Spam filter rules

the full list of what added and what reduced points, with every entry explained

Why emails end up in spam

The remaining causes are smaller but add up: HTML with no plain-text version, too many images and too little text, a missing Date or Message-ID header, no unsubscribe link. This check flags each one separately.

why emails end up in spam
No SPF record

A domain with no SPF record, or a record that omits the sending server.

No DKIM signature

An unsigned message: the receiving server cannot confirm it was not tampered with.

Blacklisted IP

The server address landed in the databases because of neighbours on shared hosting.

FAQ

How do I test an email for spam?
Copy the temporary address at the top of the page and send it a normal message from whatever system you are testing — your mail client, CRM or newsletter service. Within seconds you will see the spam score, the SPF, DKIM and DMARC results and a list of what to fix.
What does a score of 10 out of 10 mean?
The score comes from the SpamAssassin filter: it adds points for suspicious traits and subtracts them for good ones. The spam threshold is 5 points. We convert that to a familiar scale where 10 means the message picked up no penalty points. Eight or above is good; below five and the message will almost certainly land in spam.
Why do my emails end up in spam?
Three causes dominate: the domain has no SPF record, or the record does not list the server you send from; the message is not signed with DKIM; the sending IP has landed on a blacklist. Smaller issues matter too — a missing Date or Message-ID header, HTML with no plain-text version, too many images and too little text. This check surfaces all of them at once.
Do you keep my emails?
The message is needed only to parse its service headers. Data is kept for 24 hours so you can return to the report through its link, then deleted automatically together with the message in the mailbox. The temporary address is single-use: your next test gets a new one.
How is this different from checking an SPF record?
An SPF record check only looks at the domain settings: whether a record exists and what it says. This test parses a real message and shows whether SPF actually passed for the server you send from. The difference is like a correctly written prescription versus a lab result: the record can be valid and the message still fail if you send from a different server.
How many emails can I test?
As many as you like. Every test gets its own temporary address, so you can compare variants of the same email against each other — with and without images, or from different sending services. It is a practical way to find out what exactly is hurting the score.
What should I do if the score is low?
Start with the “What to fix” section — the items there are already ordered by importance. Critical ones are marked red: usually a missing SPF record, an unsigned DKIM or a blacklisted IP. Fix those, send the email again and see how the score changes. Smaller notes, such as a missing unsubscribe link, matter less but are still worth closing for regular mailings.
Does this work for mailings from a CRM or an email marketing service?
Yes, and that is where it helps most. Simply add the temporary address as a recipient in a test campaign from SendPulse, Mailchimp, eSputnik, your CRM or your own script. The check shows how authentication is configured in the exact service you send from, and whether anything is lost along the way.
