Payment QR code to the NBU standard

Create a QR code and a payment link for your account: recipient, IBAN, amount and payment purpose. The client scans it with the camera, and the banking app fills in the details by itself.

Fill in the fields — the QR code appears here.

The QR code is built in your browser by the National Bank rules: format 003, UTF-8, the hryvnia sign in the centre. Your details are not sent anywhere or stored.

For FOPs

Your QR code is ready. Next: a website with one-tap payment

A QR code works for invoices and the till. On a website, clients pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay in half a minute, and the order goes straight to your Telegram. We connect LiqPay and monobank.

  • Landing page from ₴9,900, online store from ₴29,900
  • Card payments right on the site
  • Google, Maps and ads from day one
  • A free estimate and launch plan

What an NBU payment QR code is

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has approved a single format for payment QR codes (Resolution No. 97 of 19 August 2025, format 003). The code holds the recipient’s details: name, IBAN, EDRPOU (company code) or RNOKPP (individual tax number), amount and payment purpose. The payer points their banking app’s camera at it, and the transfer form fills itself in, with no need to type the 29-character IBAN by hand.

The code is handy to print on invoices, put by the till, add to a price list or website, or send in a messenger. It is not tied to one bank: banking apps that support the NBU standard can read it.

How to create a QR code

  1. Enter the recipient exactly as the bank has it: “FOP Petrenko Petro Petrovych” for a sole proprietor (FOP), or the company name.
  2. Paste the IBAN: the tool checks its checksum and, for the most common banks, names the bank from its MFO, the Ukrainian bank code.
  3. Add the EDRPOU (8 digits) or RNOKPP (10 digits). We check these against their check digit too.
  4. The amount is optional: if you leave it out, the payer enters it. This suits a QR code at the till or for donations.
  5. Write the payment purpose or pick a template: “Payment for invoice No. …”, “for goods”, “for services”. Payment purposes are normally written in Ukrainian, and the tool’s templates are in Ukrainian.

The QR code appears straight away. Download a PNG or a printable card with the code, recipient, amount and purpose: you can put it by the till or slip it into a parcel.

Check the code before printing

Scan the finished QR code with your own banking app: you will see exactly the details your client will see. A mistake in the IBAN or the recipient’s code will stop the payment, so the tool checks both before creating the code.

The details are processed only in your browser and are not sent anywhere, so the tool is safe to use for business accounts too.

QR code on invoices, automatically

If you issue invoices often, use the FOP invoice generator: it adds the NBU QR code and the amount in words by itself. You can check an account number separately with the IBAN checker and write the amount for a document in words with the Amount in words tool.

FAQ

Which banks read the NBU QR code?
It is the National Bank’s single standard for Ukraine: banking apps read these codes, including Privat24 and monobank. Before printing, scan the code with your own bank’s app: you will see the same details as the payer.
Can I leave out the amount?
Yes. The payer then enters the amount after scanning. This suits a QR code at the till, on a menu or for charity fundraisers. If you know the amount in advance, it is better to include it: there is less chance of a mistake.
What should I write as the payment purpose?
What the payment is for and on what grounds, usually in Ukrainian. For example: “Payment for invoice No. 12 of 15.10.2026” or “Payment for services under contract No. 5”. The purpose is mandatory in every QR code. The standard allows up to 420 characters, but the whole code has a size limit: about 90–140 Cyrillic characters of purpose fit, depending on the length of the recipient’s name. If the text is too long, the tool warns you.
Does a FOP enter an EDRPOU code or an IPN?
A FOP enters their RNOKPP (also called IPN), the 10-digit individual tax number. Companies enter their 8-digit EDRPOU code. The tool checks both codes against the check digit and tells you if there is a typo.
Are my details stored?
No. The QR code is built in your browser, and nothing is sent to the server. Once you close the page, the data is gone.
How is an NBU QR code different from card payment on a website?
An NBU QR code is an ordinary bank transfer to an account using its details, with no card acquiring: fees depend on the banks’ tariffs. Card payment on a website (LiqPay, monobank) is acquiring: more convenient for an online shop, but each payment carries a fee.
Why won’t the app read the code?
Most often the print is too small or there is glare. Print the QR code at least 3 × 3 cm on matte paper. If the code scans but the bank does not accept the payment, check the IBAN and the recipient’s code: the tool shows whether the checksums match.
