What an availability check shows

Whether the server answers and how fast. A simple check that eliminates half the guesswork.

Is it down, or is it you A check from our server shows whether others can see the site. If it answers, the problem is your network or cache.
Response time How many milliseconds a round trip takes. Above 200 for a local site means the server is far away.
Consistency If some requests are lost, the problem is the link rather than the site. The spread in timings reveals it.
After a migration The check reveals which address the domain resolves to right now — the new server or still the old one.

When there is no reply but the site works

No answer does not always mean an outage.

The firewall blocks probes Many servers deliberately ignore such probes to avoid attracting scanners. The site itself loads fine.
DDoS protection Cloudflare and similar answer instead of the server. You are measuring them, not your hosting.
The server is overloaded Replies come late or intermittently. An early sign that resources are running out.
The domain points elsewhere Something answers, but it is not your machine. Check the address matches your hosting.

Reading the response time

under 50 ms The server is nearby, in the same country or region. The best case for a local audience.
50–150 ms A neighbouring continent or distant part of Europe. Acceptable, though it already affects page speed.
over 200 ms The server is across an ocean. Every request adds this delay, and a page makes dozens of them.
inconsistent Timings jump between 30 and 300 ms. A link or load problem worth raising with the provider.

Website response speed test

Classic ping measures ICMP packet round-trip, but for websites something else matters more — how fast the server delivers a page to a real visitor. This tool measures exactly that: DNS lookup time, connection setup and TTFB (time to first byte). These are the same metrics Google considers in Core Web Vitals.

A good TTFB is under 200 ms, acceptable is under 500 ms. Above 800 ms a site feels sluggish: the culprit is slow hosting, a heavy backend or missing caching. Test your site and your competitors' — if yours is slower, you lose both visitors and Google rankings. Site speed optimization is one of our services.

FAQ

What is TTFB?
TTFB (Time To First Byte) is the time from request to the first byte of the server response. It shows how fast the server starts serving the page.
How is this different from ping?
Classic ping sends ICMP packets, usually unavailable on web hosting. We measure real HTTP response time — the metric that actually affects site speed for users.
What response time is good?
TTFB under 200 ms is excellent, under 500 ms is acceptable. Over 800 ms indicates a slow server or heavy backend.
Why is the time different each time?
Server load, route and caching affect the time. Take several measurements to see the average.
